About James:
Born in Indiana, James Fuller moved to Kern County with his family during the early years of elementary school. Fascinated with medical science at a young age, James realized early on that he wanted to dedicate his life to helping and healing people. Committed to his goal to pursue a career in medicine, at age 13 James became the youngest medical explorer to ever train with the Kern County Fire Department and local ambulance service.

After completing high school, he became one of the youngest certified Emergency Medical Technician in Kern County. Then while still working a grueling schedule as a full time EMT, James went back to school to become one of the highest trained state licensed paramedic in the county. However, after a few years as a paramedic James recognized that it still wasn’t enough for him and realized he wouldn’t be truly satisfied until he could care for his patients at an even higher level. In 1999 James left his paramedic position and went back to medical school full time with a goal to become a Physician Assistant.

Upon graduating from the prestigious Stanford School of Medicine, James spent another demanding 2 years completing his residency at Stanford Hospital. Once completed he returned to Kern County to serve the community where he grew up. After returning James was in high demand as the areas only certified primary care Physician Assistant with extensive training in the field of cardiology related heath issues.

However, it all came down to what I believed would be best for my patients in the long term. Through Dr. Cousin’s affiliation to Premier Family Practice Associates, Mohawk Medical Group, Southwest Urgent Care, and all the technically advanced hospitals in the Bakersfield area, this partnership now allows me to significantly increase the level of healthcare I can offer to my patients, and in the end that’s what I really care about the most!.”
